  German Mid 16Th C. Hunting Sword
  30" single edged blade with grey patina & areas of lt pitting & groove to back edge; lightly etched with hunting scenes & marked DARNACH HAT MAN VER LANGEN, man on horseback with hounds & deer; obverse side KAGEN UND AHL FANGEN, man on horseback with hunting horn, hounds & birds; iron hilt with side ring & lrg quillion; D shaped guard with lt staining all over; stag horn scales to grip secured by two lrg iron rivets; lhs of scales broken at the pommel. A v. early example of a classic hunting sword.
