  Cased 2Nd Model Tranter Percussion Revolver With New Zealand Connection
  54 bore; 5 shot cylinder; 160mm (6½") oct barrel; top strap engraved with crested Unicorn couped over a wreath, being the crest of the original owner of the revolver; 54 BORE stamped on the breast of the borderline & foliate engraved frame; spurless hammer; dbl trigger marked TRANTERS PATENT NO.2124 on lhs; frame fitted with a Y shaped safety spring; g. profiles with slight wear & clear markings; dark bluish/grey patina to barrel, cylinder, frame & fittings; hammer, trigger & t/guard polished silver; vg orig fine chequered walnut grips; all complete; gwo & vg cond. Presented in its orig oak case with vacant rnd brass escutcheon with William Hollis Retailer Gun Manufacturer trade label; also instructions for loading; partitioned & lined in green baize showing signs of wear; with a full compliment of good accessories, lubricating tin a modern replacement. A previous owner was Captain J.W. Cohen, acting commander of the Ngaire Rifle Volunteers New Zealand, with original N.Z document with his name. A good item for the New Zealand collector.
