  An Edwardian 15ct gold mounted gentleman's swagger stick
  the pommel engraved 'E. Ashmead-Bartlett, Bachelor's Club [London]' and with retailers details along with their hallmark for Edward Swaine Adeney, London 1910.
• Notes:
  Ellis Ashmead-Bartlett MP was a WWI British war correspondent. His reportage of the Gallipoli campaign was instrumental in the birth of the Anzac legend; and through his criticism of the conduct of the campaign was contributory to the dismissal of the British C-in-C Sir Ian Hamilton - leading to the evacuation of the British Forces from the peninsula.
