Two works in four volumes, duodecimo, with 52 fine handcoloured aquatint plates in total, uncut in original bindings of boards and cloth, with paper spine labels. London, Rudolph Ackermann, [1824]. First edition: the South Sea volumes includes Hawaii (vol. I, pp. 1883 – 266); Pitcairn, the Bounty and the Pandora (vol. II, pp. 294 – 325); New Zealand, (vol. II, pp. 128 – 203). -
Notes:Many of the attractive coloured plates are based on views by Arago and Choris. The New Holland volumes include six fine coloured plates of Aborigines, some based on illustrations to the Baudin voyage and Freycinet voyage accounts.
