These are owned and used by women to save important wealth items such as Bird of Paradise Feathers & Ancient Woven Textiles.

Provenance:Field collected by Todd Barlin in Fategomi Village in 1985. On left the owner was: Pauline Kambu on Right: Antonia Antoh.

Notes:These textiles were traded from The Sultan of Tidore and Timorese traders, who regularly came to this part of the Island of New Guinea to buy Bird of Paradise feathers.
