  A 1960s large Len Castle wood ash glaze jug
  the tapered cylindrical body with fine angular incised bands to the lower body, wide flaring strap handle, the upstanding lip with fine ribbing, the variable mid-brown glaze with dark iron spotted highlights, incised potter's mark to base. Height 325.
• Provenance:
  Purchased from Castle in the 1960s, our vendor being a student of Castle at the Auckland Teacherís College, the following Castle pieces from the same vendor.
