    A Russian cosmonaut flying helmet
    complete with mounting ring, inner cap and bakerlite microphone. Early cold war (md 50's) SPACE HELMET GSH-6A ORIGINAL pressure helmets were used, first of all, on high-altitude interceptors, such as MIG-25 and MIG-31, but also were popular among the test pilots (pressure helmet)- part of high-altitude pressure suit . Hermetic helmet special design gives pilot the ability (astronaut) to carry out the missions at high altitudes. This helmet has been worn so it has some dents on the top of the helmet & has a small tear on the green bib. This is an item that was actually used for spying missions against the Americans during the Cold War. It is not an unissued helmet, it is not in mint condition, it has the appropriate wear & tear & the sweat smell that comes with it.
