• Notes:
  "In 1926, amidst Merric Boyd's rising fame, disaster struck. His gas kiln at home in Murrumbeena burnt down. As an event it affected the family finances immediately, and exacerbated his health problems. Merric re-established his studio with the help of a builder neighbour, Arthur Gilbert."
