Lot Description:A George IV Silver Cup & Cover and Salver
by Paul Storr London 1821 the cup cover with acanthus flower finial the body with applied fruiting vine and with a repoussé embossed collar of acorn and leaf above a fluted band; obverse applied figure of a rearing horse reverse with a presentation inscription 'At a Vestry held ….Greenwich …24th Day of April 1821……to Mr Hargrave'; the salver engraved with the crest of a rearing horse. Cup Height 41cm. Total weight approx 3920g. Salver diameter 36cm. Weight approx 1710g. In a steel-bound oak box with various documents including 'The Life of John W. de la Flechere' by Rev J. Benson and 'Report of the Committee on the Burden sustained by the Parish of Greenwich in relieving poor persons connected with Greenwich Hospital'. -
