  with original field collection labels; Left: Slo Village, Upper Bian River, Marind Anim, Made by Gabriel Kaise who died in the 1960's, Right: Kumbe Village, Kumbe River Marind Anim, the owner of this drum was Alfius Mahuse.I made many trips to the Marind Anim between 1985-1999 both to visit friends and make collections for major museums including a full Dema Ceremony now held at The Musee du Quai Branly in Paris and another at the Linden Museum in Stuttgart" - Todd Barlin*see attached field photos.
