• Notes:
  In the 1980s Tim Johnson began working closely with Aboriginal artists at the Aboriginal settlement of Papunya in the Western Desert. He first began documenting the artists with their work. He then produced a series of paintings based on this photographic documentation working in a sketchy, photo realist style. Johnson exhibited four of these 'paired' paintings alongside the work of four Papunya artists in Waiting for Technology, n-space, Sydney and Yuill Crowley Gallery, Sydney in August 1983.
