Heaphy came to Port Nicholson on the Tory in 1839 as a young New Zealand Company surveyor and artist. This account published after his brief return to England at the end of 1841 is a loyal tribute to Wellington and his employers, somewhat hasty but without the extravagances of E J Wakefield. A handsome copy of this very scarce and sought after work. G to G+. -
