An old Solomon Islands small fishing box
of barrel form, the body from a wide bamboo section with woven fine cane binding, the fitted lid carved with birds and repeating banded designs, also with central bar form section pierced for the woven cord handle, showing patina of age, binding strap to base absent. Height 180, diameter 150.
