Lot Description:PHAR LAP'S HORSE SHOES: Pair of horse-shoes
one front, other hind. Shoes are steel alloy, both inscribed 'WOOD'S/ BOLTON ENG/ Pt 12609', '8H' & 'BROOKES' (who was the only farrier that shod Phar Lap in Sydney). Mounted in a frame with picture of Tommy Woodcock holding the front shoe, and letter of Authenticity from master farrier Dick Bell, overall 82x79cm. Also cassette tape of Tommy Woodcock talking about the shoes in 1982. -
Provenance:ex Tommy Woodcock; Sold by Sotheby's in 2000, and displayed for some years at the horseracing museum at Caulfield Racecourse.
