A Large Chinese Carved Wooden Figure of Guanyin, Late Ming (1368-1644)/Early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911)
the smiling and peaceful figure, seated majestically in 'rajalilasana'(royal posture), wearing an intricate floriate headdress with the figure of Amitabha, her hair twisted into a high chignon, the figure carved with long lobes, flowing, loose garments, bangles and beaded necklace, covered all over with vibrant polychrome application, 124cm high
