Lot Description:1855 cover to 'Grahamstown/South Africa' with 'Cape of Good Hope' added, London Printings 2d rose-carmine SG 2 fine strip of 3
(margins close to large but a little damaged at the top from being placed too close to the edge of the envelope), bold diamond-numeral '1' & 'PORT ADELAIDE/OC3/1855/SOUTH-AUSTRALIA' cds alongside, endorsed 'Via Melbourne' but crossed-through, very fine seriffed 'CAPE TOWN/FE2/1856/CAPE OF GOOD HOPE' transit b/s in red & rated '8' in black, minor soiling & part of the flap removed. A very scarce origin/destination item.
