Wellington : James Bragge, c1880. Carte de visite/albumen print. Mild wear to card. The subject has only one eye, the other having been gouged out by the wife of a Hauhau. He bears a splendid facial moko and long beard and wears an impressive hat embellished with a corona of feathers. A striking image. G+. -
