Lot Description:An early 19thC French mantel clock
the black marble case surmounted by an ormolu urn, the white enamel dial with blued steel hands, Roman numerals and framed by an ormolu bezel, the dial marked ‘Duché Pere & Fils’. The mechanism striking on a bell and with silk suspended pendulum, the whole raised on a substantial bronze foot cast with neo-classical designs and embellished with further ormolu mounts and trims, raised on a conforming black marble plinth with ormolu sabot feet. Height 490. -
