• Notes:
  Label verso states that a 1764 etching appeared in 'Dessines en Russie d 'apres Nature et Graves a l 'Eau forte por J B Le Prince,' c.1772. Le Prince was a student of Francois Boucher (1703-1770), & in 1758 he travelled to Russia to work for Catherine the Great at the Imperial Palace, St Petersburg. He remained in Russia for 5 years, & travelled through Finland, Lithuania & Siberia, returning to Paris in Dec, 1763.
