    purchased at a December 1977 fundraising exhibition organised by Artists' Action in aid of Gough Whitlam's campaign for the 1977 election, Collection of Catherine Griffin, Sydney, thence by descent
  • Notes:
    Artists' Action was one of several grassroots political organisations run by artists to fundraise and support the Labor Party under Gough Whitlam. Catherine Griffin was Secretary of Artists' Action and Artists for Democracy. Graeme Inson served as a committee member of Artists' Action and donated the painting to the exhibition
