Lot Description:A Japanese four-panel tortoise-shell folding screen, Meiji Period, 1868-1912
each panel with two sections, the upper sections inlaid with figures in ivory and gold lacquer on a gold lacquer ground, the lower sections with birds and plants in gold lacquer on tortoise-shell, continuous gold lacquer floral scrolls on ebonised wooden mounts, chased metal hinges, the exterior with various medallions on the tortoise-shell background
