  ‘Awarded with Gratitude and Honour for his Excellent Services...., this certificate entitles Colonel Davies - if at any time he is in the government district of Detmold (Rhineland) - to call upon the personal assistance of the police colonels of this district and ensure his protection at all times........’.
• Provenance:
  Colonel Davies, an English policeman assisted the British military in Germany at the end of WWII. Copies of various photos with this lot and War Office relief letter.
