C - Boer War: 1902 taxed stampless cover
from an officer in the Aust. Commonwealth Horse, addressed to Victoria. Endorsed in pencil 'C. W. St John Clarke, Lt. 4th Batt. A.C.H.', 'On active service' and 'No stamps available'. With Newcastle, Natal 'MY 13 1902' cds at top R, 3 different '1d' tax h/stamps and 3 b/stamps. Very scarce as regiment arrived in Sth Africa in April 1902.
