  BOUCHON-BRANDELY, G. Traite de Pisciculture Pratique et d'Aquiculture en France et dans les Pays Voisins. Paris, Auguste Goin, 1876. 26 litho plates, several folding, a few text illustrations, (28),468pp., some browning and pale water-staining, cancelled ownership stamp on half-title, large 8vo., recent 1/2 black morocco gilt, marbled boards.This copy belonged to David G. Stead, author of several standard books on Australian fish, with his signature on flyleaf. Stead has extensively annotated the book in pencil with notes, underlining, translations, and conversion of metric dimensions into imperial measure. [Stead was also the father of novelist Christina Stead].
