Two volumes complete. 516 heliotype illustrations on approx. 300 sheets, over half double page, titlepage, (4),16pp. text, oblong folio [320 x 440cms], contemporary 1/2 cloth and marbled boards, board edges worn, cloth spines and corners professionally restored, spines titled in gilt. Some light fingermarking and minor signs of use. Beautifully drawn (and well reproduced in monochrome) perspective views, elevations and plans of grandiose designs for public buildings, railway stations, spas, churches, private mansions &c., from the prize-winning students of the most influential architecture school of the 19th century, the epitome of what the various reformist and modernist movements reacted against; S -
