  Book On Oriental Ceramics
  [GRANDJEAN, Rene] Ceramique Orientale. Paris, Henri Ernst, n.d. [1922] 40 colour plates (photogravure hand-coloured by pochoir) mounted on publisher's tinted light card, title leaf, contents leaf in old manuscript, missing the leaf with the short prefatory note by Grandjean. Loose in publisher's porfolio with ties, 38 x 28cms. Applied title illustration on front board, spine returns and tips in patterned cloth. Spine neatly replaced. Originally some sort of ring binding (2 rings) with reinforced holes in the inner margin of the loose plates. Plates very good, portfolio showing some wear. Mostly Isnik ware, tiles and ceramics, from Ottoman Turkey and some early pottery and tiles from Iran.
