  GRUZ, Hippolyte. Motifs de Peinture Decorative pour Appartements Modernes.Paris, G.Claesen, 1860 [but after 1867 - see note] Chromolitho title, 60 plates (45 chromolitho, 15 tinted), (8)pp. prelims, (15) leaves of explanation interspersed with the plates, large folio (490x320mm), all bound on stubs in contemporary 1/4 red morocco and marble paper boards, vellum tips. Binding somewhat worn and rubbed, now stabilised. Plates very clean.Superbly executed plates - the summation of Second Empire nouveau riche taste. Although the chromolitho title is dated 1860, the preface mentions projects up to 1867.
