First edition; UPTON, Roger D., Newmarket & Arabia. An Examination of the Descent of Racers and Coursers, London, Henry S. King, 1873, Colour wood engraved frontispiece, (12),211,(1)pp., 8vo, publisher's terra-cotta cloth, titled in gilt on front board and spine. Although there are five pages of pedigrees at the end, this copy is MISSING the four additional folding charts of pedigrees. This copy seems to have been issued without the 32pp. of advertisements found in some copies, and in a variant binding. A defective copy of a quite rare book. -
