  A petite late 18th century Venetian mirror
  painted in the chinoiserie style in parcel gilt and vermillion. The rococo shield shaped carved frame surmounted by floral and cloud form pediments. 665 x 450. Along with an associated mahogany, lead weighted table stand.
• Provenance:
  Mrs. Venetia James (1861-1948) (née Cavendish-Bentinck) the godmother of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, [inscribed verso: 14/7/48 Mrs Arthur James, Coton Hall, Rugby, Godmother to Queen Elizabeth]; purchased by our vendor’s mother c.1963 from a Rev. Mr. Burr, Stow-on-Wold.
