Notes:This painting bears the original descriptive notes verso that read: "The "Dreamtime" of the Australian Aborigine is the period in which the earth was peopled by ancestral spirits - people, flowers, trees, animals - and here Majindi has painted the "Palm Tree Dreaming". The top part is female, the bottom part male. Creeks are shown on the outside, boomerangs, and a large bird. Four oblong shapes on the extreme outside represent "la la" or tucker."
