    Chiefly Patu
    A prestigious club with a large a voluptuous rounded blade and finely carved designs. These designs feature, Koru forms Haehae and Pataki notching to both sides of the blade leading to a ridged flared handle end, Pierced round suspension hole for attachment. Early inscription written on the blade with paint or sealing wax: 'Mere Takau or war club used only by Maori Chiefs. Old inventory numbers in white paint: 57.8.3. Rich dark brown patina.
