  A rare Khorassan Dorokhsh rug
  a close cropped dense hand knotted wool pile on cotton weft and warp, the field decorated with a tightly patterned Herati variant in a subtle range of tones incorporating rose pink madder, blue and ivory, dominated by the overall dark indigo background, the field flanked by multiple borders, the broadest incorporating the same tones as the field and with a stylised floral meander pattern, the narrower borders picking out the lighter tones of rose madder and blue on an ivory background. 1950 x 1420.
