Lot Description:DAYBED: Cedar, c1825.
Most likely from the workshop of Shaughnessy who was noted for making furniture of this quality & style.
Height 93cm, width 218cm, depth 64cm -
Notes:Extremely rare of sleigh shape with the low end scrolling in & the high end scrolling out in true Regency fashion. Note an advertisement from the Monitor (Sydney) 19th May 1826 "Hair bottomed sofa's & sofa tables to match on the Grecian principle". An unusual feature of this sofa is that the bottom rail is 2 inches higher than the standard sofa.
