Lot Description:M.J. McCleavey - Study of the Ocean Liner ‘Lusitania’
watercolour and body colour, signed, titled and dated 7.3.10. 225 x 700. -
Notes:‘Lusitania’ was built for the Cunard Line in 1906. She was sunk off Ireland by the German submarine ‘U20’ with the loss of 1,198 lives. It is said that this act hastened the U.S.A.’s entry into WW1.
