  As with the CA Monograms on the £1 First Watermark, JBC Monograms are extremely scarce. In fact, other than a single strip of 3 in the Royal Collection, the present example plus one other single are the only mint copies known. (There are three pieces with "Specimen" handstamps.) According to BW, every example seen of both monograms is incomplete, being trimmed at the base.
