seated holding a rosary, wearing loosely draped robes baring his chest and stomach, with downward gaze and smiling expresssion, his hair in tight curls, his books on a rock ledge to one side, traces of coloured pigments, the opaque cream stone with areas of caramel sufffusions, wood stand and box (2)
