Lot Description:Ilene Rosa Stichbury ( 1898 - 1991 N.Z. ) - Scene with Gaff Riggers and Floating Kauri Logs
oil on canvas, unsigned, c.1926-36. 395 x 600 . This work and a number of the following were auctioned at Webb's in March 1990 to raise funds for the Auckland City Art Gallery (the Ilene and Lawrence Dakin bequest) and is accompanied by a letter of authentication from the artist's solicitor. The artist trained under Frank and Walter Wright whose works they closely resemble in colour, style and subject. -
