Lot Description:A collection of twelve auction catalogues relating to war medals, orders and decorations.
1917-1930. This group includes eleven facsimilie editions of Glendining and Sotheby catalogues, bound in green cloth with titles mounted to spines. Each copy relates to the sale of notable English collections such as S. Tombs, J. Murray, Lord Cheylesmore, M.T. Kennard and A. A. Payne. VG. Plus a smaller volume bound in brown cloth with 'medal catalogues' in gilt to front cover. Inscribed by famous collector D. Hastings Irwin who authored 'War medals and decorations issued to the British military and naval forces and allies from 1588 to 1901'. Wear and foxing, binding weak. G-. A superb resource. [12]. -
