  Medal Cabinet
  A fine Mahogany cabinet mounted on four cabriole legs with door, 20 draws. Cabinet: Height 96 m x width 56cm x depth 44cm. Draws: width 51cm x depth 36cm x 2cm deep; all with green baize lining.
• Provenance:
  Commissioned (either in 1930s or 1940s) from a Wellington Cabinet Maker by Mrs W D Ferguson as a gift for her husband, William Du Bois Ferguson (1891-1959), a foundation member NZ (later Royal) Numismatic Society (1933) of which he was a past President. He was an authority on Greek, Roman and early English coinage, FRNSNZ (1951); following his death his outstanding numismatic collection was sold to B A Seaby Ltd., of London. About 1964 the cabinet was purchased from Mrs Ferguson for John Gibson
