• Notes:
  Sophie Steffanoni was one of the few female impressionist painters working in Sydney in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She was also a notable embroiderer who exhibited both paintings and needlework during her lifetime. She died prematurely at 36 years old from pulmonary tuberculosis.
