Ko nga waiata Maori : he mea kohikohi mai -
Notes:Capetown : Printed at Pike's Machine Printing Office, 1857 [i.e. 1950], 4to. 57 p. Red cloth boards. Spotting and sunning. Small tear to head of spine. Occasional foxing. 'The beginning of a volume by Grey containing forty-eight Maori songs. He contemplated including the translation of most of the songs. P. 57 is only a proof inserted since the compilation of the catalogue by Bleek, and apparently the whole volume is a collection of the final proofs as far as the work had progressed' -Williams: p. 64. 'In 1949 sufficient printed sections were located in the tower of the Auckland Public Library to enable about 150 copies, with a special printing of p. 57 from the proof copy, to be bound and sold by the Polynesian Society. The work, therefore, although printed in 1857 was not published until 1950' - Bagnall. Scarce. G.
