  • Notes:
    Originally Named Isola She Was A Barque Of 680 Tons, Built In 1876 By J. Elder And Company In Glasgow, Scotland. On Her Maiden Voyage She Took 130 Passengers To Brisbane Before Going Into The Copper Ore Trade From The West Coast Of South America. In 1895 Under The Danish Flag She Sailed As Else, But Five Years Later, Known Again As Isola, She Ran Onto A Pacific Island Reef And Was Towed To Auckland. She Ended Her Operational Days As A Coal Hulk. Then Donated To The Tasmanian Government For Use As A Breakwater For Fishing Vessels At New Harbour On The Far South Coast And Towed To Her Final Resting Point By The Tug Boyer In May 1953. Loaded With 150 Tons Of Stone, She Was Sunk With Her Stern In Eighteen Feet And Soon Broke Up.
