    A Fine 19th Century Two Day Marine Chronometer
    with Dent's patent staple balance and Ernshaw spring detent escapement, freesprung. The balance consists of a cross bar with U shaped bimetallic affixes to reduce the effects of temperature. Silvered dial with maker's details. (3 3/4 inch diameter). Contained in a plain mahogany case with brass handles and gimbal fittings with key. Made by Dent London maker to the queen. C. 1866. Numbered 3024. Sold to the admirality and used on various naval vessels until 1922.
