Lot Description:JAPANESE SPEAR (yari 槍) late Edo period ca 1825
24.0 cm point length flaring to 3.3 cm width, with surface rust; unsigned tang 28.6 cm with flaking rust; rarely seen “bamboo leaf” shape (sasaho ) with ridge one side, flat the other with a broad, shallow red-lacquered groove; pole cut off at 69 cm with all metal fitments remaining including iron parrying cross bar (hadome) & pearl shell decorated surface (losses), o/a fair. -
