    TSUBA
    Circa 19th C Edo period Shakudo tsuba; blackened bronze with silver highlighting round 70x68mm with stipples field on both obv & rev; obverse with figure of preening crane in high relief, its body, neck & head overlaid with silver, crown of head left in copper; the Kodzuka hole is also picked out with silver; rev bears a simple decoration of rocks & stream & signed in archaic Chinese style of writing, not deciphered; minor blemishes to obv. A highly attractive & scarce tsuba.
