  70 Cal; 2 groove rifling; 30" rnd barrel; g. bore; silver bead front sight & one standing & 2 folding rear sights; top rib marked WHALEY & SONS IMPROVED RIFLE: foliate engraved breech & barrel tang; back action lock with borderline engraving & foliate panels marked WHALEY & SON STROOD & fitted with a bolted safety & platinum vent; foliate engraved steel pineapple finial t/guard; foliate engraved steel butt plate; sharp profiles, clear markings & engraving; well defined damascus twist to barrel with shades of orig brown finish; orig silver polish to lock & hammer; exc stock with finely chequered pistol grip & vacant shield escutcheon; all complete with orig r.rod & sling eyes; gwo & fine cond.
