Lot Description:ENGLISH S/B PERCUSSION SHOULDER HELD PUNT GUN by COOPER of DURHAM
10G; 37½" heavy, 2 stage barrel with damascus twist; breech faintly marked STOCKTON; game scene engraved back action lock; foliate engraved hammer; pineapple finial iron t/guard & butt tang; g. profiles; clear markings except the address on the barrel; g. engraving; soft grey patina to barrel, lock, hammer & furniture; g. orig ½ stock with even wear to chequered wrist & fitted with a German silver forend cap; all complete; needs a new nipple & r.rod has some damage o/w gwo & f to g cond. A scarce, very heavy shoulder punt gun. C.1840. -
