    A Rare 19th Century German Off Hand Schuetzen Target Rifle
    by Christoph Funk from Suhl. The octagonal 8.15x46R calibre barrel with inlaid maker's name in gold is fitted to a walnut stock with chequered detailing. The triggers are double set with all steel locking plates and guards, finely engraved with floral scrolls, leaves and flowers. Serial number R100 stamped on the barrel with its original aperture sight and brass ramrod. Formerly displayed on the wall in the German consulate in Wellington prior to WWII.
