Lot Description:Sacred Flute Ornament
Wooden, over-modelled mask with raised facial features and pierced septum, inset with shells, dog or quoll teeth, cassowary feathers. Slightly hollowed back with lug for attachment to the sacred flute. Pierced chin for attachment. Mid-20th century. Kambot Village, East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea.
