Smith, British Consul Munich Bavaria) by Dame Nellie Melba after she accompanied her on one of her European tours in Paris as a pianist and singer in 1906, also includes a hand written letter by Dame Nellie Melba 'Dear Miss Smith, I shall be very offended if you do not keep the little fan- I gave it to you, I hope it will be a little porte-bonheur during your career, yours truly Nellie Melba' in an addressed envelope to Miss Emmy Smith, tortoiseshell slats with branch motif to ends and sheer black fabric with black lace, blue threaded hand stitch repair to one end, raised 'Nellie' insignia in rose-gold coloured metal to one end, in original box (VG-E box G) Unfurled 35cm x 66cm
